About Jerry Frank Jones
Mr. Jones specializes in wills, estates and trust, and is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His practice is concentrated in litigation and controversies arising from wills, trusts, guardianships and powers of attorney.
Mr. Jones has been named a Super Lawyer, sponsored by Thomson Reuters as printed by Texas Monthly magazine from 2003-2021, and has been named in The Best Lawyers in America. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Mr. Jones has written numerous articles and is a frequent speaker. Some of those articles are available on this website.
In 2018 he was given the LIfeTime Achievement Award by the Real Estate Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
Mr. Jones has worked in various capacities to improve Texas’s probate, trust and guardianship laws. Most recently he chaired the Pattern Jury Charge Committee drafting jury charges for probate, guardianship and trust cases. From 1999 to 2005 he was the legislative liaison for the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar. He served on the Legislative Interim Study Committee on Community Property Laws in 1999 and 2000. In 2001 he was a member of the Uniform Trust Law Committee for the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar.
He is currently working on the Texas Supreme Court Task Force for Probate Forms.
He is also a past chair of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar. He has served on committees of the American Bar Association and the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
